The Spring Lake Five Mile Run - May 28, 2022

Welcome to the Spring Lake 5 Mile Run and Kids Race.

We look forward to getting back to kicking off the summer by racing Memorial Day Weekend!  Registration for the 2022 race will open on Sunday, February 6 at 5:00am.  There will be very limited spots available for the 2022 race..

Update as of Dec. 3, 2021:

As the holidays fast approach, we look forward to the coming New Year of 2022, and an expectation that the Spring Lake 5 Mile Run will once again return on Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend!

At this time, it's impossible to predict what the health conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic will be, or the precautions which might be required of our race and each runner. Over the coming months we will be in touch with registered runners as this fluid situation becomes more understood for a gathering of runners that each year is 12,500 strong.

Whatever precautions that might be put in place or required, it will be impossible for the Spring Lake 5 Mile Run to guarantee that registrants/runners in our 5 mile run will not become exposed to, or infected with, the Coronavirus/COVID-19, whether from other runners, race volunteers, the public along the race route, or race officials.

Accordingly, any registrant for the 2022 Spring Lake 5 Mile Run that does not wish to assume the risk of exposure and/or infection of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 by participating in the 2022 run, may opt out of the race at this time through RunSignUp. Registered runners need to click this link to request a refund: then scroll down towards the bottom of the registration page.

Any such opt-out is to be made by NO LATER THAN January 5, 2022. If opting out, you will receive a full refund in mid-January, less any processing fees. There will be no refunds after January 5, 2022.  Any registrants/runners that were deferred to the 2022 race are automatically registered and no action needs to be taken.   As always, race numbers can be transferred to other registrants/runners up to the day of the race.

The Spring Lake 5 Committee wishes everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday season.

Ed Hale, Race Director

Rich Sciria, Chairman, Spring Lake 5 Trustees

In 1977, five hundred runners lined up for the first Spring Lake Five.  Thanks to your help, the race has grown into one of the country’s biggest and best running events. Over the past 17 years, Friends of the Spring Lake 5, Inc. has donated over $2.4 million to local charities, volunteer organizations, town initiatives and Spring Lake Recreation.

Winners of the 2019 event were Brian Quilty in 24:48 and Lindsay Ritchings in 28:30.
