Dear SL 5 and Kids Race Runners,
Thank you for being a part of the Spring Lake 5. We are excited for your participation on May 23 & 24! Please read this entire message; ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT BRINGING YOUR PHYSICAL PAPER BIB NUMBER TO PICK UP YOUR SHIRT.
Race number bibs were mailed to all registrants (on April 1). Open your envelope prior to coming to the race; check your bib for correct info for your name, age and gender (see note below about shirt size). If you do not receive your bib number by May 20, please send an email to springlake5@springlake5.org
TRANSFERS: If you are no longer able to participate on race day and would like to transfer your bib number to another runner, instructions and transfer form are on our website: https://www.springlake5.org/BibNumberTransfer
Runners are encouraged to pick up their shirt and glass before race day to avoid security-related delays, see schedule below and it is also listed in your information sheet that was mailed with your bib.
FOOD COLLECTION: The Spring Lake 5 will be collecting nonperishable food items at the train station (only) pre-race week for Fulfill of Monmouth and Ocean counties. Please make sure the food items have not expired. If you would like to contribute food here are the dates and times to drop off a donation at the train station only (no race day collection):

RACE DAY Shirt/Glass PICKUP, Ocean Ave and Sussex Ave, begins 6:00 am. Pickup will be at two tents: Shirt Tent and Glass Tent.
Important: You must bring your actual race number bib (the paper bib that was mailed to you with the timing chip on the back) with you to pick-up your shirt and glass - NO EXCEPTIONS (we do NOT accept a photo of the bib number). Shirt size and type ordered will be the size given. NO EXCEPTIONS. We will have a shirt exchange on race day at the t-shirt tent on Ocean Ave from 10 to 10:30am
KIDS' RACES:
Registration for the Kid's Race is still open, registration is available online until May 16th and onsite at the SL train station (Note: CASH is preferred for onsite registrations; $20). Those who are already registered, please bring the paper bib number(s) that was mailed to you with you to pick up the Kids' Race t-shirt. Please go to the Kids Race Registration Table inside the train station.

FRI (May 23) 10 am - 3:00 pm at the train station and 4:30pm - 6:00pm on Ocean Ave. & Essex Ave.

RACE DAY: Remember to come early on race day, parking is limited, street parking only, obey all parking restrictions. IMPORTANT: Position yourself at the starting area according to your expected finish time and pace! This is the most important thing we ask of you. You MUST show a designated bib to our security team to allow you to start in the front rows of the race. Do not start in the front of the race unless you have the ability to be a top finisher of the five-mile run. Those who are walking - please position yourself behind the runners.
BICYCLE PARKING “LOT”
On Saturday, we will have a fenced in secure bike drop near the finish for those who ride their bicycles to the race. This area between Atlantic and Essex Aves. will have security for checking bikes in & out. All bikes must be removed by 10:30 am. The SL 5 is not responsible for any bikes left after 10:30 am. Note: no bags are permitted to be left with the bikes or in the bike area.
SAFETY & SECURITY: For the safety of all, there will be enhanced security at this year’s race. No backpacks will be allowed. Pay attention to all race signage: “KEEP OUT” means “KEEP OUT”. Bib numbers must be visible on all participants. There are no strollers, baby joggers, scooters or dogs/pets allowed in the race. Be prepared for additional security information as updated.
