Race Day Volunteers: Please arrive at the volunteer
tent/table, right next to the information table, between 7:00am and 7:30am on
Saturday morning of the race. We could definitely use the help.
Kids' Race Volunteers: 5:00pm to help with the kids races
on Ocean Avenue at Atlantic.

3/31/2008 - T-shirt contest winners announced.
Five Mile Shirt Design - Jeffrey Auger
A New Jersey native now living in the suburbs of Somerset.
Jeff has been in the graphic design/print production field for just over 17
years, with experiences ranging from publishing companies (Hearst Magazines) to
award winning advertising agencies (Cliff Freeman & Partners). Jeff is now
expanding design role to include product photography and various photojournalism

Kids Race Shirt Design - Jean McNiff
Jean McNiff is a watercolor illustrator who
has lived in the Spring Lake area for sixteen years. Her work has graced the
pages of Bridal Guide Magazine, as well as Country Sampler and Good Housekeeping
specialty publications. She is also the illustrator of two books.
Jean’s Father was a permanent fixture at
the Spring Lake Five runs and over the years her children, nieces and nephews
have carried on the tradition and have participated in the Kids’ run. It was
while remembering these fun times that the idea for this year’s whimsical
design came to mind.

2008 Spring Lake Five has reached our limit of entrants and is closed.

The Spring Lake five race closed for 2008 for regular
entry on Feb. 14.
The limit of 9,500 runners was reached. All mail that is
postmarked by February 14th will be accepted.

Important: It takes about two weeks from the time we
receive your application in the mail to process it have your name posted on the
website under the current entrants lists on the information page. Please be
patient if you do not see your name right away.
You can still volunteer for the 2008 race and receive a
race t-shirt.
Thanks to the Friends of the Spring Lake Five,
Inc, one hundred entries will be available through charitable organizations. In
2007 the charities were able to raise over $15,000 for their individual causes.

Spring Lake Five 2008 Charities
We ask that you
contact the charities directly for details about entering the race through their
email listing. You will be asked to raise a set amount in pledges for
the charity. All the money you raise will be given to the charity; your
checks are written directly and mailed directly to the charity, not through
the Spring Lake Five Mile Run.
New Jersey Sharing Network

New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network (NJ Sharing Network) is a
non-profit, federally certified, state approved organ procurement
organization (OPO). An OPO is a program that acquires and coordinates
placement of donated organs for patients on national transplant waiting
lists. NJ Sharing Network is responsible for the recovery of organs and
tissue for New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation and is
part of the national recovery system.

organization with a mission to help people affected by cancer enhance their

Charity House
Charity House is a foundation dedicated to donating help directly to those
in need. Started back in 1988 when we saw a need to support people
immediately with money, care, food, supplies, etc... without having to go
through the many channels of a corresponding charity.
We are proud that 100% of the money donated to Charity House goes directly
to those people in need. There are no administration costs.

The Front and Center Fund
The Front and Center Fund has been established to help raise money and awareness for causes, families and individuals in need. This year, all of the money raised through the Spring Lake 5 will benefit for The Embrace Kids Foundation

The Embrace Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization located in New Brunswick, NJ that is committed to enhance and support the quality of life and care for children with cancer and blood disorders and to provide the much needed support services for those children and their families.
To enhance your donation, The Front & Center Fund will make a 10% matching donation so that the foundation will actually receive 110% of all donations that are made. EVERY dollar donated will go directly to the foundation.
